Question Beardie advice (viv set up)

Hi just wondering when setting up the uv light does it work better with a reflector. I have got a strip light. Please help Any other advice would be greatful. Thankyou

Yes it will work much better with a reflector.

All a reflector does is direct the light to a specific place and away from another (ie will point it downwards and stop it from going up). It could be seen that there could be a small amount of 'waisted light' but in my experience I would say that it wouldn't make that much difference for the breadies if you have one or not providing that you had the correct uv bulb ie repti glo 10 or equivilent.

I have 2 vivs set up for beardies and neither of them have reflectors and all animals are happy and healthly.

Agreed.. I see reflectors as being an option extra rather than a necessity.. Not used one myself, although some do..

Personal choice I guess...

For what they cost its wortjh getting one. Although better spending money on the right bulb than getting a reflector.

Arcadia 12% are slightly more than the Reptiglo bulbs but last a bit longer and give off a bit more UV.

Remember to change your bulb every 9 months.
