Same as Hannah - I change when its needed. Somewhere between 4-9 days usually.

Interestingly I have noticed that their poo smells a lot less than when I changed it every day....

Depends on the species for me. I have some lizards that need changing daily, sometimes even twice - or more - daily, because they seem to drop just about everything in their water, whether it's poop or some salad or floating crickets or kicking the substrate in... it seems to constantly need changing and those need to be changed at least every day.

The majority of my snakes though ignore their water and I change it when needed, spot clean and check the water daily but it often doesn't need changing daily for snakes.

Olwen get's fresh water every day give or take. Only at the moment we have been letting her bowl dry up as she's brumating and we do not want any extra moisture in the viv.
But yea, I generally go on the rule of 24 hours which is the same rule I use for myself with a glass of water on the desk

R.I.P Olwen & Dran. Both rescue's taken too soon.
