Do you use digital thermometers? If so what do they say?

I'm no expert on cresies but 20C should be warm and not hot.. The human body temps is about 36-38C

No, i have the Komodo 2 in 1, thermometer and hygrometer.
And it says 20-26 is the temp it needs but my heat mat feels really cold for some reason.

Try and take it out, turn it up and put a thermometer on top to see if its working. Like I said though, even 26C isnt hot.

Ok sorry I couldnt help more.. Just as a word of warning though, if your heat mat is faulty and it decides to fire out full heat you may cook your crestie. You shouldnt really have any heat source in your viv which isnt protected by a thermostat

If you put a pic up of each side then il be able to tell you which is which but to be honest if you cant tell be touch then the chances are its not working

They both warm though xD
It's a Komodo heat mat, with little strip like heat source.

Put the eliments facing up but tbh I dont think it will make that much difference unless its a cheap heat mat, in which case the heat wont be distributed properly making some areas hotter than others.
