to the forum
i would suggest that you search for care sheets on them read them a few times before getting a bearded dragon ,
once you decide that you are definitely going to buy one, set the viv up about a week before so to make sure you have the temps right

Take a look here and here. That should start you off with the basics of what you need. You will also find some info on heating here.

My advise to you is to do your own research, this forum is a great place to start. Don't take the advice of the reptile shops as most of them give a lot of misguided information, its not always their fault but it is often the case.

The most important things are, viv size (minimum 4x2x2). UV, has to be the Arcadia 12%, only logical approach when buying new. And finally temps and a good gradient.

Good luck and

Good advice so far.

Also - many shops will try to sell you multiple beardies for one viv. If they do, don't listen to them - Beardies are best kept on their own. The shops usually have a glut of animals to sell, so often try to sell groups. Males will fight (females may do so as well) and you'll have bullying / dominance problems whatever you have. We all know what will happen if you have a mixed community! It may be that you would be delighted to breed them, but the female needs to be old enough to cope with it.

If you can stand the wait, it would be well worth going to one of the Reptile Shows. There's loads of info on here about them:
