Default Measuring Snakes

Perhaps a silly question, but how do you all accurately measure your snakes ?

Mine are all way too fidgety to sit still to let me do it!

Piece of string, measure in segments when you get to the end of the snake hold the string where it ends and measure the string

I also measure with string...but i measure the same snake 3 times and take the average

I did think of that but clearly it's not quite the same size as when stretched over the snake.

yeh sorry didnt want to sound patronising...
do you think there is a big loss in size of the shed then? cant be that much can it ???

the shed can be around 1/3 longer than the snake due to the skin inbetween the scales haha, makes quite a difference!
