Thermo reflector plus large in wooden viv?

My dimensions are 6x2x2. Are these supposed to look so low? I have an exo terra night glow fixture which is massive as well. I have power sun uv 160w and it's just an eye sore..

Are these things supposed to sit on the viv rather than mounted inside?

There's no need to have a reflector for your basking lamp, not in a vivarium anyway - I don't think most people bother. They are mostly used as holders for above glass terrariums.

Where the viv is not very tall and/or the lamp sits too low and you are trying to get some height between the lamp and basking point/s, then they are sometimes used above a hole cut in the viv roof. Provided your temps are right and there is room above the viv, it can be a neat and tidy solution.

That's what I thought, I already had Komodo lamp holders on standby.
I would cut a hole but I think 24" wastes the uv I think not to mention it wouldn't be much of a bask... I do t think anyway

Oops - forgot you were using a MVB. Yep, just leave out the reflector.
