corn snake help

i have cb12 Anery A black corn hes housed in 2ft viv.
heated 85 hot end 80 cold 2 hides one at each end plastic plants branches and large water bowl.
he eating drinking and pooing fine.
the problem is hes hiding all the time even at feeding time he grab his food and retreats back to his hide is this normal?

Its normal behaviour for a snake! especially a baby one.

Reptiles are subject to predation from above in the wild and as such will always use caution. so hide when not basking and keep out of the way!
