I agree and by the way!

Geckos and corns are definitely the easiest to start with (not all geckos tho).

I wouldn't necessarily say that corns are calm lol but theyre fairly docile and don't get too big. The last thing you wanna do is start with something massive that decides to eat you!!!

Spot on here

Do a little research. First you of course need to decide if you want a snake, lizard, tortoise etc. then do some searching for a breed you like the look of. I've said it a million times before but don't get sucked in to "beginner" reptiles. If you think something looks like it'll suit you do lots and lots of research and get it rather than being stuck with something you don't particularly like as much just because they're "easier" to deal with

1)Find something you want.

2)Research till you feel ready.

3)Get everything needed and set it all up.

4)Get snake you want.

5)Be happier than if you got something you may well regret even though it's known as a 'good beginner' snake.

By the way,

Thank you for the great advice, i'm new to the whole idea of getting a snake. got a beardie already. really want a royal and have been researching for days on end. i think the addiction may have kicked in even before buying. i love how many morphs there are. finally decided to get a phantom as my first but have read this and think i will get set up before i choose my snake. can't wait. thanks again folks.
