cresties do well in tanks with height, depending on the size of the cresties, when i had them i kept them in the following sized tanks - (all sizes in inches)

adult male - 12w x 12d x 18h (they used to spend 4 months a year in a large tank serving 11 females)

adult females (no more than 4) - 18w x 18d x 24h

i used to have 12 adult females in a tank that was 48w x 24d x 36h

juvies - in various sized tanks to suit size of crestie,

they prefer the height more, hope this helps

i myself keep each of mine in separate vivs the vivs are 45 cm x 45 cm x 60 cm high
this is the smallest i would keep one in as they use all the viv to explore and are constantly hunting around
