Just donít overfeed and there will be no waste.

As above, and pick up the poo and urates as and when.

How are you keeping the Horsfield and what are you feeding in that there are leftovers?

i feed him mixed lettuces and sometimes tortoise pellets. the reason why there is leftovers is sometimes he eats more and sometimes he eats less. I do pick up the leftovers and his poo. I was just wondering if there was a way to make a life a bit easier.

Well he could do with a much better varied diet consisting of weeds and flowers that are suitable for tortoises, and no pellets. If you find picking up poo too much for you then how about weed picking?

Yes, feed half of what you are giving him now
Horsfield tortoises are the greediest tortoises on the planet. If he’s leaving food then he’s being offered far too much. Lettuces and pellets are about the most damaging foodstuff for a russian creating deformities and kidney problems. New areas of lighter coloured growth should be no thicker than a fine pencil line width, any more and he’s overfed. This is how I keep them. Tortsmad UK ~ Russian Tortoises/Horsfield Tortoises hope that helps.
