Smile ravorback musk turtle and map turtle are biting even though they have lived fine for

Hello

We have a ravorback musk turtle (3 years old) and a map turtle (1 year old). They have lived together fine up till now but we have noticed they have been biting earch other at times, we have mostly noticed it when we feed them. They are currently in a 3 ft tank but we are going to get them a 4 ft tank when we find a decent one so they have more room. We are pretty sure they are females. It is mainly the older turtle that is biting the other one and a few times he has had a good nip at the map turtles head and then the map turtle will lie completly still with his head in is shell. If anyone has any ideas or advice to help stop them biting each other as I dont want any of them to get injured.

thanks

Agree with the above, they really should be separated before a serious injury occurs especially as they have different requirements, foodwise etc.
