I will post some pictures up of him later.
Just given him a nice warm bath, which he seemed to enjoy.


You are quite right about forums and the help and advise they give.

After his bath I put him under his heat lamp and a lot of white stuff came out from the rear. What is this?
Last night whilst my wife was holding him his showed us his bowel movements were all ok ??

Its called urates and is normal. As long as it resembles toothpaste (!) it means the tortoise is not dehydrated. Although obviously he should still have a water bowl and baths.

You'll get some excellent help and advice on this Forum - there are some very experienced and helpful keepers on here.

Ahhh that's excellent news as this was our biggest worry.
As the previous owner told us he didn't need a water tray!!
Although we knew he did.
