Hi David,

I started off incubation at about 80 F, but it did slightly creep up over the incubation period to about 82 F. I wanted to incubate at the slightly lower temperature of 80 F as I read on one of your threads, I think, that the young seemed to hatch out slightly larger and fed better. When the head crept up a little though I just left it at 82 F rather than keep fiddling with the thermostat.

The eggs started to pip at day 73 and the first two emerged on day 75. Today is day 76 and two more were out this morning and almost all of them have now pipped.

I just weighed the four that are out and they weigh 27 g, 31 g, 31 g and 33 g.

Cheers. I had no idea how big they were relatively as they are my first hatchlings, so I am quite happy if they are big uns.

I will take some more pics in the next couple of days and pop them up here, as well as some pics of mum and dad.

I found one more hatchling this morning and while I was out today a couple more hatched. One of which is a hypo. It seems like that one is the only hypo in the clutch, as I have had a glimpse of most of those still in the eggs and they appear to be normals. So far seven are out of 13 are out of their eggs. More pictures below:

Firstly pictures of one of the hatchlings having just pipped from yesterday or the day before:

Next, one of the hatchlings hooding in my hand (note the glove!):

The hypo hooding:

And a couple of the hypo and a normal together:

A little update.

Last night I offered these guys their first feed and out of the 12, 8 ate. 1 of them ate it off the tongs as soon as I put it near him, as he was having a bathe in his water bowl. The other seven ate pinkys that I left over night. Only four refused, including the hypo.

They will be for sale when they have had enough feeds (at least four, possibly more) and I am satisfied that they are ready to be move to their new homes. The normals (all of whom are hypo siblings) will be up for sale. I may be selling the hypo too, but it depends on if it is male of female. If female I may keep, if male then he will be up for sale.

If anybody wants any on hold I will only do so on a 50% deposit, otherwise it will be first come first serve. I will put a classified post up when I have sorted out the asking price and taken some photos.

Just thought I would say that all of the FWC hatchlings have fed now. Today I was feeding the adults some chicks and noticed that four wings had fallen off the chicks so I thought I would pop them in with the four hatchlings that had not yet eaten and by this evening all the wings were gone. Hope fully that will kick them off and they will take pinkies next week.
