Default Anaconda Vivarium Build

Hello, I have started to build my vivarium for Connie'conda and I thought I'd share the process with you all!

The viv will be 70"x30"x24" (LxDxH) with a 68l pond!

The first thing I had to do was to move the snakes as it's being built into my desk, they knocked quite a lot of stuff over. especially Connie as she did NOT want to go into her little holding box while I moved her viv:

and here they are in the living room... The setups do look a bit frankinstein like but they work:

I then stripped the top of the desk and I needed to sand the top to get the glue off:

However, at this point I have hit a snag. While doing a check up on the snakes I noticed Connie had put her "waterproof" probe of her Pulse Proportional Thermostat into her water dish and it's not working. I am leaving it dry for a day or two to see if it works then, but at the moment I'm having no luck, I went down to my local reptile shop and the MicroClimate ones are £52!! Sadly, if I have to get that then it would have to come out of her viv money, which is a major set back...

In spite of that, it will leave me enough money to get the pond working but then I think I'd be stuck! I'm keeping an eye out for a second-hand one, if anyone can point me into the right direction to help speed the process up so she can warm up then I'd be most grateful!

P.S. she's fine in that viv at the moment, I'm keeping the room at 24C-25C, only thing that I'm unable to do is feed her.

I'll keep this thread updated, I'm going to try and buy that preformed pond tomorrow and fit it!

What a relief!! Just checked the thermostat again and it's all working! Phew, that's £60 saved! Now all the money can go into the viv, hopefully I'll have an update tomorrow night, if not then it'd be sunday!
