Like I said she does eat but really few and far between, I'll order some gerbils and multis and try that. Fingers crossed. Alot of my snakes went off their food for a couple of weeks when I moved but she's just stressing me out. Vets, I'll go if all ideas are exhorted but she's hydrated. The vets iv used haven't saved any of my snakes. So I'm not keen if I can get her feeding regularly. I'm shore there was an article in PRK a phew months back on snake anorexia.

well if you think your snake has anorexia i think its certainly something to look into, i know nothing about it so i cant comment really. i have heard of it but i have no info. i did say maybe something else is involved, not necessarily something wrong with the enclosure but behavioral.

i wouldnt have that approach on vets i know you have had bad experiences but when you find a good one you really find a good one, often you get vets with little or no snake experience.

try the gerbils and stuff, then maybe look into a vet trip to a specialist if theres no improvement but from the sounds of markaveli it does seem like a common thing. i have had this problem myself but not to this extent, i have had alot of friends too but again not to this extent.

i think it could be entirely possible it could have anorexia but i think you should extort every possibility like you said first.

Yes, royals are notorious for fasting but having lost 40% of it's body weight I'd suggest this is more than just a case of being a fussy eater. You really need to get it to a vet with a fecal sample.
markhill and malykot like this.

Have u tried multis my pied was the same but now she's in a rub and polishing off multis every 7-10 days. Will only eat them if there defrosted on my other viv and warmed in between 2 hot water bottles. But smashing them now maybe worth a try.

i really have to too mate this isnt normal, the amount of weight she has lost is a serious cause for concern. i think she just needs to go for a check anyway, even if you do get her eating the gerbils, its an incredibly abnormal amount of weight to be losing.

No, just a difficult feeder at times but only a gerbil seems to spark his appetite then he goes straight back onto rats.
