I am interested in getting a Royal or a Kingsnake, want to go the full whack bio active /naturalistic. So I see people say it's not needed but I would like to know if by having one will it raise humidity too much for the snake to be comfortable? I would like to if it's possible as I can see benefits to it with live plants and cuc breeding. I plan going for a Forrest themed setup.
What I am assuming is the water would evaporate from the drainage layer into substrate from there into living area causing the humidity to go beyond acceptable levels? Do your humidity levels stay correct Louise?
Louise, from my understanding I'm guessing a Drainage layer with water in would raise the humidity level above acceptable levels? Do you find this is the case?
Just had a looksie at them, really I'm looking for a snake that would be active during the day (was going to make an exception on the Royal if I was able to obtain the one I wanted) Though will do a bit more looking into them and may consider one as they are quite nice looking.
