can you recommend a better viv but for 50 quid maybe please?

Better than what, a plastic box?

What's the maximum space you have available and what's you budget ?

A 48" x 18" x 24" viv will set you back around £100 - £120 for a flat pack self assembly - probably wouldn't save much if you purchased two melamine panels from B&Q, some glass and vents to build one yourself.

Ceramic heater and reflector - £30

Guard for above - £20

Pulse proportional thermostat - £40

So that's going to set you back around £200 for a suitable set up (exc decoration)
