One of my worst bites was right after lifting a hide up and disturbing a Boa left some nice marks on my hand anyway, my own fault for disturbing him though.

I never bothered with a hook until I got a retic.
My Carpet was pretty viv defensive so if he was in a particularly foul mood he used to get the hook sometimes, he also gave me some good whacks to the hands and got my Dad in the face lol.

I never lift them out with a hook ,just lifted the hide just incase lol
A bit of Tap training is always useful in my opinion, all my other 13 boas have responded well ,most of the time I just lift them out with out even using the hook to stroke them with , sometimes I stroke them and they don't even move there so chilled, infact makes my heart sink ,cus I think there dead so have to shake them harder, more if there's food defosting in the room

I tap trained my retic, it's such a useful thing to do with a snake like that, most constrictors strike fast and hard especially thicker bodied stuff, but nothing like a retic in my opinion, they're so incredible intelligent and very vicious feeders, one touch on the head/neck with the hook and he would put his head back down knowing it wasn't feed time it was handling time.

So nice!
Great pictures too, nice to see some variation in your shots rather than just in the vivs.
I need some branches and stuff like that but they're so expensive in the reptile shops and even online.
I need to get better at IDing trees so I can choose some safe wood and nick a few branches off the ground, there's loads fallen round near me, but I don't know what they are
