Default Royal python questions

Apologies! I realise my next few questions will annoy the patient folks who answer these questions all the time. I've read through a lot of posts and the advice seems somewhat conflicting.
In a nutshell,I'm waiting for a 3ft viv to arrive in a couple of days.
My plan was to heat it using an Arcadia dhp (never used one before)
Orchid bark substrate for humidity.

Will the dhp bulb be too big in a 3ft? I don't want it too low down. Will it need a cage around it?

Also planning led lights for 10 or 12 hours per day.

All plants will be plastic or silk.

Anyone else with royals care to weigh in for me?
Thank you for any help

Canít comment on the Arcadia DHPs as Iíve still yet to try them out. What I would chime in & suggest though; if youíre adding lighting to your viv, seriously give UVB some thought - Iíve noticed such a difference in all of my snakes activity levels since switching from LED strips to Arcadia ProT5 tubes!

It shouldn't be. Do a user search for ArcadiaJohn, he's the chap that developed it.

IMO its always prudent to guard any form of heating

LED lights (personal preference is for 3000K warm white) are fine for viewing, and the Royal will do just fine with 8-10 hrs a day, but they are generally nocturnal and you typically won't see much activity in the day time.

There are low level UV tubes that people recommend, although personally I've not used UV in my vivs, and lighting of any type is seldom used in rack system - Like most subjects in the hobby, there are lots of debate over what is minimum, whats satisfactory, and what's essential etc

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to try this dhp malarkey. getting great reviews from what I can see. That with an led strip
Any recommendations for led lighting??

If I'm not happy I can swap to ceramic and/or uv at a later date.

I used these in my rack build,

https://www.toolstation.com/led-strip-light/p63452

but any striplight that isn't self adhesive should be fine

Awesome thanks! I was looking at the 2ft white python lights, these look the same but much cheaper 👍
