I candled 3 using the LED on my wifes phone and all three had good vein structure but the phone was ideal to illuminate the whole of the egg to see any movement.

I know the eggs shrink in those final weeks as the snake absorbs most if not all the yoke sack, but I always get concerned by how much the eggs shrink. There can't be that much room in there.

Blimey and I wanted to breed snakes! I stress enough with my Crested Gecko eggs!
But Iíve been doing it for so long now that I just leave them until they hatch out. Had to cut a couple out before though!
But I think snakes are more of a worry I swear!

Cheers mate. If you do snip gently pinch the egg in the middle the top where you are going to cut to make sure any veins fall away. Good luck with the odds!

OK I cut them... just a small "V" flap to see what's inside and check that it was alive.

Hard to tell exactly what I got in terms of lesser / pastel / lesser pastel or even normal, but some have some interesting patterns to say the least, and some look very light and defo have lesser in there....

Did I hit the odds ......?????

Egg number 4.... a totally pinky white snake with no markings

The good news is that all seem to be moving having been disturbed, but all I can do now is wait for them make their own way out and hope that they are all perfectly formed... I'll post up pictures once they are all out.

Oh and managed to cut the eggs without nicking any veins
