Males mature, usually at around 18 months. However loads will be successful breeders far earlier.
It's more to do with your animal rather than at a certain age/weight.
Royals can breed at 1.3KG and less but is it healthy? Not really. If I could suggest. Wait till your animals are closer to 2KGs. Females can lose alot of weight from laying eggs, and at 1.3KG, there could be little left of her if she had a decent sized cluth.
do you ONLY go by weight for girls?
i.e. if you have a fast growing girl and she reaches weight a lot earlier than other girls, would she be ok to breed?
dont have a specific age in mind yet but got a fast groweing girl whos due for her monthly weighing in a few days (ate yesterday so cant do now)
shes about 10.5 months old and should be approaching 1000g (ive only ever fed her every 7 days)
