Iv never drilled mine, always used a soldering iron and its always worked really well.

I just get a pencil and ruler and make two squares of dots-one on the warm side and one on the cooler and them burn through on the dots.

either way you do it, do it from the inside out that way you dont get the sharp edges. i have used a heated up fork in one of mine.

RUB's have little dimples on the side a made the holes over them and then just copied them on the other side just lower.

Or put them in the lid depends on the kind of humidity levels you want

Default holes in rubs

take a look at this link http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/habit...ke-setups.html shows where the author drilled/melted their holes.

Also my method:

Note the series of holes bottom right of tub, what y ou cant see is that there are two rows of ten holes at the top of the left end of the tub. All these hoels were made using a kebeb skewar heated over a flame from a gas hob, tends be cleaner, produces smoother finish adn removes risk of cracking/splintered encountered when drilling.

M

P.S should mention that this is an old image and the inside of the tub now has aspen substrate different hides and a nifty coat hanger inspired climbing frame poking through the holes which little Verbereus enjoys clambering over
