Arrow What to do with a snake when you go on holiday??

Just wondering what those of you who have had snakes for some time do with them if you go on holiday?

Am planning to go away in the new year some time for about a week and want to make sure my snow corn is adequately cared for. It won't be for a few months yet but wanted to just get some responses on this in plenty of time. Obviously feeds wouldn't be a problem as could make sure she is fed the day we go and then when we get back. However we have no relatives or friends nearby who also keep snakes so was wondering what other people do if they have this problem?

Im sure I could find someone we trust who could just change the water on a daily basis and keep an eye on temps if we tell them what it should ideally be, but is there another way round this if we can't find someone who isnt a snake lover who feels brave enough to do it?

my best friend looks after our zoo if were away (like over xmas!) but some petshops will look after animals over a holiday period, you take them in in a RUB or similar and its not too expensive, a few quid a day or something similar. ask around locally

Just a word of caution about boarding with pet shops. They usually look after boarding snakes well but sometimes they come back with mites. It's not really the pet shops fault as their stock comes and goes constantly and all it takes is one mite egg and hey presto they have an invasion. Not all pet shops do have mites but as they are a lot of hard work to get rid of, if you could get someone to come and change the water it would be better (and less stressful for the snake as moving to a new place with new smells etc is stressful for them).

I agree!

Just ask someone to change the water every other day at the very least.

Just leave it alone, it'll be fine for a week.
