Default Corn Snake Mouth? Help?

Okay, so I was handling my little Amel female today, and noticed something VERY strange about her mouth and the tip of her snout.

The top jaw scales around the left hand side of her nose and mouth were sort of wrinkled and looked more yellow compard to the rest of her white scales and they seemed sort of dried out.

On top of that, her mouth seems to be ever so slightly curled up where the scales are wrinkled, exposing her gums which compared to the rest of her mouth, seem pretty big o.o

Anyone have any idea whats up here? She's just shed and everything so I dunno if its anything to do with that.

I had a similar problem with my rat snake. The scales around her snout looked dry and wrinkled like you're describing and she started to hold her mouth open and even yawn. I took her to the vet as I suspected mouth rot or a respiratory infection but he said it was more likely the consequence of her rubbing against the viv. Due to the extent of the swelling he still gave me antibiotics for her and then she shed and is all better now. Deffinitly worth taking it to the vet either way, especially if like mine it stops feeding. The whole trip cost me £36 including 2 weeks worth of antibiotics. A fair price to keep the snake healthy

my first thought was damaged scales from rubbing, and you said it had just shed so it is most probably that, although impossible for me to say sitting here, so best bet is, if your worried, seek a vets opinion.

She DID have retained shed around that area, but I have removed it.

She has also taken a fuzzy tonight as normal without any difficulty, in fact she seemed much more enthusiastic than normal, snatching it straight out from between my fingers in a flash, so she's definitely not put off her food xD

On closer examination while she was swallowing the final bit of tail and gaping her jaws open to swallow, I realised the swollen gum area had gone down dramatically since I last checked and that the little curled up "grin" she had on the right hand side of her mouth had also almost completely dissapeared minus a TINY bit of gum showing where her scales are still crinkled and dried out.
