Default Cutting the eggs?

Hey people, Well what's your opinions on cutting the eggs when the snakes are close to their hatching dates?

I just watched this video and the guy seemed quite rough with the animals considering they were only coming out of the eggs for the first time.

YouTube - Cheetah Retics?

(btw I think they just got some kind of new retic morph but that's a different topic. )

if the eggs are late i can see the point, but i reckon it's mainly a patience issue with most people.

Struggling and in distress = yes

Cant see why you would do it otherwise. Seems like bad animal management to me and rather irresponsible!

The guy says he does it because some of the snakes drown when they try to hatch themselves.. I'm not being funny but perhaps they're meant to? I mean yeah it sucks and that but that is why they lay so many eggs so that they have the best chance a few survive. I mean perhaps thats allowing a possible gene problem coming through when perhaps they shouldn't have.

I'm personally not sure, I wouldn't do it, but I'm a believer of if something happens it happens for a reason.

But what are your reasons for not doing it? Snakes that come out of eggs that are cut don't suffer any stress or ill effects, so why not??

What a plonker!

He should have used a blunt tipped short bladed pair of sizzors, not a bloody super sharp razor.

He could have quite easily slashed any one of those lil serpents with that thing.
