Default Animal cruelty in WestMids attraction zoo - LOOK

Hi me any my OH visited a Theme Park / Zoo last week and these are the reptiles they are keeping in such fine condition...

Sorry about image quality, my camera phone dont do too well through glass...

10 - 11 foot male Green Anaconda. I spoke to the guy left in charge of the reptiles and he said managment refuse to take him off display. He also said he is a deep sleeper, which i found quite amusing in the circumstances. Look at the ammount of eye caps he has retained. The viv was bone dry with about half a foot deep of old green water which stunk. (i know it stunk becuase i got him to open the viv)

Maybe not so bad but still cause for concern. This Nile Monitor's viv was bone bone bone dry, he had those builders stones people use on their driveways, his viv was dusty as hell. Note the contrast between the pattern on his tail to the back and sides, he must have been in dry conditions for a while.

0.0.3 Australian Frilled Lizard. Surely this speaks for itself. Pure case of neglect imo.

I have reported this place to the RSPCA and hopefully something good will come of this. Noone should be allowed to keep animals like this.

Message back with feedback and your oppinions.

Si

I'm definitely not the authority on lizard keeping but that does not look particularly healthy imo
I say down with zoos, in future if you want to see an animal you either go on holiday and find them in the wild or breed your own
the snake one was even worse

This is disgusting, and doesn't bode well for the reptile hobby as a whole when supposedly qualified zoos can't even care for their animals properly!
This is why I think we as a community need to push in support of a governing body (I'm thinking FBH?) who could work in conjunction with the RSPCA to assist in rescues/consultations regarding reptiles and their husbandry. The RSPCA will seek help from NLPH (horse protection) and similar organisations to deal with 'specialist' cases like horses, so why not a similar organisation for reptiles?

Yea i agree, I called the Staffordshire local council to report this originally and they asked what animals the complaint was concerning, i said reptile and they didnt want to know the only thing they said was to call RSPCA. Nice and blunt

Angry Just awful

Disgusting. Been to a few places that are meant to be 'attractions' and the animals always seem to be in horrible conditions.

Poor things.

It's pretty bad that the people that can change things like this happening don't want to know half the time!
