I have had my corn eggs in incubation since 19th april everything was going fine until sunday morning.I noticed the stat was'nt working and may not have been for the last 12 hours? I then attatched what i was sold as a thermostat but it turns out its a habistat cool control. This increased the temp to around 50/60oc for around 7 hours. Is there any chance my eggs could still be alive? The eggs were then put in with a working stat which has now controlled the temp as before 26.6oc.They have started to change colour and have a strange odour.
I have had corn eggs survive cool temps before. However, never usually 70f. The fact that they have changed colour and smell may be an indication that they are dead. Leave for another few days and see how things go.
it does not sound like they are still good,if they are changing colour and smelling, but dont give up yet.many a corn has hatched out of what appeared a dud egg.
Thanks for the advice. They have only just started changing colour today.changing from brilliant white to a like a grey kind of colour i will post some pics.I am gutted i trusted the shop which sold me the equipment. pics to follow......
