Am being given an atb from a friend to look after while there away at uni so need as much advice as possible reguarding care and handling as need as many opinions on care as possible

Agreed, minimal handling is suggested, I only handle during cleaning/inspection and even then I lift him out on one of his branches to minimise disruption if he chooses to come and see me then he has made that decision and released from his branches so I cannot damage his prehensile tail.
Neonates should never really be handled due to their delicate structures.
