i have had my royal a couple of months now, she has missed a couple of feeds,do i wait until the next feeding day to feed her,to keep her in the same rythm,or should i try again in a couple of days?
i know missing one feed will not kill her but sometimes she looks hungry after missing a feed! am i being too soft?
also.... are royals fond of water? nagini will not go near the stuff and i rarely see her drink, but thats not to say she isnt drinking at night.
i would vary the feed frequency tbh...in the wild a feed doesnt come along every sunday at 4 so it will do no harm....royals can be fussy anyway so vary the feed times...try leaving a fresh defrosted one in just before you hit the sack and leave it in overnight.
i found that worked with our royal
Don't worry about missing feeds, royals do it a lot. They can go months without food and not really look any slimmer. My royasl has just started feeding again after 3 months of nothing. As said above, its best to vary feeding days/times. I personally feed my snakes when I feel like it. I work their feeding to my convenience.
I feed my royal's weekly but do not have a set day you'll get to no each animal feeding habits. I've got royal's that would feed a day after and some that won't eat for 10 days each one different
I would leave it till next time give him sometime to get hungry I don't see mine drink at much but as long as they have access to water they will drink when they want to the only I see mine in the water is when there in shed
my royal went seven months. Always offer water, they do drink but are quite a shy species. If you watch them they tend to watch you back. I broke my snakes habit of not eating by defrosting a mouse in a plastic bag with the open end of the bag shut in the viv doors so she can smell it, it gets her going. As soon as I open the tank she is ready to hit anything. I tried all the methods over and over again only to discover she had gone off rats!!
