When to upgrade to bigger feed?

I'm getting a hognose tomorrow and he is currently being fed on one small mouse a week (he's about a year old). A what point should I feed him bigger mice?

I ask this as I think I may be under feeding my corn snake. Yesterday we decided to give her a large mouse and a medium mouse...she's about 4 foot and when I got her, they said about 3 years old. (I've had her since feb). Am I feeding her properly?

Any help greatly appreciated.

thanks, sarah

the food item should be the same size or slightly bigger than the thickest part of the snake and should leave a lump in the snake for about two days after feeding, if its not then it may be time to up the size of the food.

My 4ft corn eats one xl mouse every week and then gets any leftovers from the others.
He usually has as least one more small and a couple of fluffs extra but he is a dustbin.
He's also had rat weaners.
he's 1yr old.
