Default A Big Thank You To RFUK :D

Hello guys,
The other week i posted a thread about my Royal Python (This one infact)
http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/snake...-about-my.html

And i got soooo many repiles, i just wanted to thank you all
for your advice. Firstly ive been treating him for his RI and he seems to be getting alot better and i will continue to do this until its totally cleared up.

I brought a RUB for him and kept him in it for the time being, but he now has a wooden tank, 24inch, he seems happy

Temp is 22.5 in one end and 25ish at the other end (Seems low but when opening the tank i personally think its hotter) Humidity is at 75%

Here are a few photos of the tank.
Let me know if you think everything is okay

Thank you again

Jason
xx

Pictures..

Glad to hear your python is on the mend. 75% humidity seems a touch high for a royal - or is this part of the RI treatment?

It's a nice looking snake anyway!

I like your username - not a metal fan by any chance are you? lol

Yeah i thinks its because the substrate is new so its still really moist. Its going down though but its usually around 60%.

And why thank you mate, and yes, metallica and trivium

I made it up years ago. Always had it lol.

If those temps are right they are way to low. If you think there wrong I'd invest in a decent thermometer, particularly as it has an RI. Glad its on the mend thou.

At the moment its in the middle just above the substrate

"Temp is 22.5 in one end and 25ish at the other end (Seems low but when opening the tank i personally think its hotter)"

The hot end should be around 30 degrees, 25 is far too low.
Am I also right in assuming you do not have a stat?

They're not great, but shouldn't give reading that far out. Temps should be more like 27-32, and the temps should be checked where the snake will actually be, as you've done.

I do actually mate its a Habistat one and its on 32 at the moment but the heat in the tank just seems a bit low... Im not sure what to do. I have a larger heat matt but it would cover the whole back wall and thats too much

Ive tried everything..
