Is there any visual signs of a sex of a boa? I got told some think a long time ago that there is but im not sure. I'm trying to find out if mine is a boy/girl. :lol2:
only hints such as the tail length probing would be much better for a more accurate result the only 100% way is to watch a female boa give birth all other methods can only result in 9/10 results tbh
I hate probing (although a necessary evil)
there are several visual methods but as previously mentioned are not 100% accurate.
Males tend to have a longer tail (from vent)
Males can have larger spurs than females.
Males in my experiance have a more arrow shaped head.
Females tend to get larger quicker and tent to fill out.
As I said these are not 100% accurate methods but there again nor is probing.
Tell it that it has a big arse atleast once a week for a month. If it's female it will snap at you atleast once.
This method is as accurate as any other listed above (excluding the following)
Probing is the only way to accurately sex a snake. Even then mistakes can be made through pushing too hard or having a snake that hasn't read the books (this is getting rarer by the day).
lubricants like vaseline can have an anti spermicidal effect and if used in young males ,it can still effect the amount of viable sperm they have when their older , only use water based lubricants
