I have spoken to a group I currently belong to called London Hackspace (London Hackspace) its a workspace in Hoxton (just outside the train station).

They are happy to let us use the building for a donation and they are fine with reptiles in the building (I have taken my BTS there with me before and he got fussed over so much, he loved it ^_^)

Thoughts?

Hi dudes, why not ask a decent retailer if they will open up late. We do this with shops over the country and sometimes they offer discounts on goods bought on the night. If its the London area I may be able to come and join you,,questions and answers type thing if that's helpful. As much notice as poss would be good. Maybe crystal palace or cold blooded??

Not a bad idea(discount always good) but finding a shop big enough! As this seems to be a popular idea.
Oh and count me in for a jolly evening with fellow herpers.

I am happy to make enquires however ^_^

Another option is not to officially *book* an area, but reserve some space in one (since we probably wont end up needing a complete room) and thats usually free since people can use the area until we need the space.

So who wants to see if I can find somewhere to bring reps along? I might, but id be just as happy to meet people and talk about there collections etc.

I will get in touch with a few places in central London to see if anywhere will be accomedating. (we would probably have more luck if we requested space on a slow night ie a Monday or Tuesday night).
this sounds good!
im thinking somewhere like Camden which is quite central
for most Londoners

ive said Camden as its not in the middle of London
but is very central and easy to acces via London transport
or by Car
its also hip and trendy so may be easyer to find a place that will accomodate us
a large room at the back or upstairs should be easy to find

I have the OK from a place in Hoxton from early evening to late. They are fine with reptiles being brought in and they have a bring your own food/drink policy so no extortionate drinks prices. Hiring it out would be about £30 or something (so a couple of pounds each max, ie the price of a beer)

If I were to arrange this for the evening of the 28th March (from say 6pm onwards), who would be interested? Maybe I should set up a poll to see who is interested?

Edit: the address is Laboratory 24, Cremer Street, E2 8HD. PM me if you plan to attend and want my number so you are guarenteed to know at least 1 person there ^_^
