Default Sn amazing feeding day :)

Well after getting sent home from work and literally sleeping the day away i remembered that i had a bag of rats defrosting in the garage.

was gonna try the royals on larger food and give the medium rats to Mystique AKA Madam.
wasn't holding out much luck for this feeding day as Jordan the best feeder in the bunch was shedding, Kammo the scrub was shedding, i was feeding the royals and well we all know how reliably royals feed, and madam hasn't feed in three months so.... well I'm pleased to say three outta five fed.
Madam took two rats in the tub so she'll be tub fed from now on
Jordan ate one rat but started to shed half way through he was forgiven for not eating everything
Kammo gently took the rat off the tongs from troy

And the well the royals they where more interested in what was going on rather then eating but the boas had their left overs.

So all in all a good feed but on one wanted to eat the black rat??anyone else had snakes that refuse different coloured rats?

anyways just wanted to post about the good feeding day, sorry no pics will try to remember next time, thanks for reading

Always good to have a successful feeding day

Mine don't seem fussy about colour at all. Will take black, white, and spotty

Glad that the majority fed
None of mine are fussed by colour, food is food. However my rat snake refuses to eat anything that has been in the freezer for over a month I think its more likely coincidence, but there can't be anything wrong with the rat as I give it to someone else (normally my ever reliable corn) and they always eat it with no ill effects?

Actually Mystique is a boa constrictor, she just might be gravid and has been iffy with her food since mating but thank you

I keep thinking in my head maybe I'm being a cheapskate.. Maybe he's use to fresh and he thinks I'm being thrifty, I've had to start writing dates on bags so as not to give him something over a month in age. The other day, I found some that were 3 and a half weeks old, as I was giving him one, he stared at me it was a full on 'I know what you're doing, you're being cheap...'

He really freaks me out...

HA-HA one of my boas will only eat his rats if they've been defrosted over the day, then heated in hot water, if you don't do it this way he refuses to eat.
he normally doesn't care what he prey item is i cant be guinea pig, rabbit kit, rat mouse (he doesn't like chicks) as long as its been defrosted in this fashion but even he turned his nose up to this black rat.

even the boas turned the black rat down, i know one of my royals wont eat a hooded rat (ones with dark colouration on their heads) but doesn't care most otherwise, i can imagine how hard it is to only get black rats
