Just read on a facebook group that a guy in Strathmiglo in Fife has been broken into and had
" 1 Adult male Lesser, 1 adult female spider, 1 sub adult bumblebee and 2 young bumble bees as well as 2 normals stolen ( plus a 42 inch tv)"
me personally i think this is the lowest of the low, and a despicable thing to to, so thought it an idea if folks could keep there eyes open........... end of the day no one here would like it to happen to them.
guys name on facebook is David Donaldson and he can be found on central scotland reptile group
hopefully by getting the word spread someone wil hear something and help the guy get his snakes back
personally it sounds like someone who knows the value of these animals.
can but try. just goes to show nothing is sacred these days! there is always someone who wants to have what you have, why cant folk just be pleased for someone who has something you would like
Taking someones things are bad enough, but taking their snakes is just wrong.
Chances are, it's someone he knows. You don't just fall on snakes like that, and instinctively know theyre worth a bit of cash. I'd be quizing everyone who knows what I keep.
Sounds like a targeting to me and the tv is just to rub it in or quick cash while they find homes for the snakes, poor guy hope he gets the snakes back and claims on home insurance for a bigger tv
For these snakes to be stolen it is not just by chance who ever has stolen these either knows somebody privately or a retailer that will buy these animals so every body should be keeping an eye out for them as we all know on this forum these animals need specialist care All I hope is that the guy gets his animals back safe and in good health and the dirty low life scum gets what is due
which is why the more folks are aware about it the better, on the other hand if folks are targetting snakes then its always good for others to be aware anyway.
Let's hope they get back safe and sound... It could be someone who just thinks all exotic pets are worth money, most non-snakey people I know seem to think each of my snakes cost mega-bucks and are shocked when I tell them how little most are worth (in a financial sense)...
i am the opposite most non rep people are astounded at the cost of some of them and its only when i point out the cost of a pedigree dog that they realise its in keeping with animals as a whole.
This seems to be becoming all too common these days,i had all my GTPs,womas, and high end king and milks stolen last year all of which were proven and some of their offspring taken to a total value of around £5k,never seen or heard a word of them since! so good luck finding these fu%king scum bags!!
when i last lived in the uk back in the early to mid 90s,there where alot of stealing to order of snakes, knew a few people who had some very costly animals stolen and others animals not touched, just the cream was taken and this seams just like that, maybe we are going to see more of this in the coming months!! gutted for him!!
