I have bought ceramics off ebay, some 3+ years ago still going strong. The only advice I would give for buying ceramic off ebay, is buy new not used : victory:
Tbh, the problem is probably due to the fact you attached a bulb to a pulse stat.
Try turning your bedroom light on and off 100 times over and over again and see how long it lasts! Ceramic bulbs are still light bulbs covered in heat resistant paint, in essence. Connect them to dimming stats so that the power is given to them slowly, and they'll last far longer. Pulse stats are usually used for heat mats and heat cable, not bulbs.
In regards to where to get your ceramic bulbs from in the future, I'd always recommend Forttex. Dunno how much you paid for the eBay one, but Forttex bulbs cost £9, regardless of the wattage and mine have lasted well over a year in constant use now (with dimming stats, obviously!)
I would check your connection in the holder as this is the most common problem.
Unplug from the mains then gently bend the middle pin in the holder out a bit.
The problem is that the middle contact on a ceramic bulb isn't as proud as a normal bulb so they don't make a good contact to the holder in a lot of cases.
Some won't work at all and others work for a while and stop.
A pulse stat is fine with them. I have had most of mine running on pulse stats for over 4 years.
Change the fuse to a 3 Amp though.
