Hi i was just wondering what is the best way to get a lean female boa i am currently feeding my female boa a small rat every 2 weeks and she is about 2" thick, 1 1/2 years old also just over 3ft.
Make sure there is plenty for her to climb and exercise on. If you put a large branch in the middle of the enclosure that it has to climb over to move between the tank this can help too. Handling is good exercise too.
just try and judge when she is hungry mate. my growing on boas I feed up during summer months and they may become slightly fatty then during colder months cut feeding down and they lean up whilst maintaining good size
I let my 2 biggest roam up and down the stairs from time to time, they love it and they also come out a few times a week for a crawl around my bed - as do my younger ones. Another good excercise is a luke warm bath so they can swim about to use all that muscle. Although this isn't too helpful for bigger boas that hardly fit in a bath! :gasp:
doesn't lean mean thin?
plz correct me if im wrong lol
