Get yourself "The Complete Chondro", read it and then you should be ready. Reading a few care sheets probably won't be good enough. Getting the setup spot on will be the key with the correct humidity etc.

Hi mate I've being doing my research for a few years now and will be getting my 1st gtp early next year if you search for "the green tree python thread" on here I found it really helpful

Also as above I think the setup being perfect and a humidity "cycle" is the hardest part not that I'm an expert

Good luck in getting one of these amazing animals

'The complete chondro' is a complete nightmare to find, I've contacted many rep shops and they all say the same thing 'its currently out of print'.
even when they still have it for sale on their website, so be careful and always contact them before purchasing it, don't make the same mistake as me

I've had to make do with 'The Green Tree Python and Emerald Tree Boa: Care, Breeding and Natural History by Ron Kivit and Stephen Wisema' It's worth a read.

I did find this small article by Greg Maxwell also worth a read, http://www.reptilechannel.com/media/...andry.aspx.pdf

If anyone does know of somewhere I could get the book could you give me a bell please

It's the 'More' Complete Chondro that you want. It's the updated version from Mr Maxwell. If you post a wanted ad on the classified section you will probably find one.

Best of luck.

Dont believe too much of the hype of them being difficult
Once your set up is reasonably good they are pretty easy to look after
Most feed quickly and regularly
Pretty tough snakes once they reach 12 months or so
Dont handle youngsters unless you have to
Use removable perches
Darker coloured vivs are better than white ones
