Default habistat heat mat light

It is heating my incubator but I haven't used it for a yr. It is flashing constantly (green light) and I swear from memory the mat should either be on or off heart and not flashing? Advice please as don't want to leave it on overnight if it is has possibly failed me and will need to replace.

Flashing constantly sounds like normal for a pulse stat, but if it's a mat stat it shouldn't be flashing. What frequency are the flashes?

Every one and half seconds which I thought was odd.ended up driving across Devon to turn it off and set a new stat up. There is nothing on google about that happening. Doesnt sound right but wanted to check. I plugged it in again today to test it and it isn't doing it, how odd! Thanks for your response

If it's a pulse stat it'll pulse on/off sometimes, and sometimes it'll just stay on constantly. As long as your thermometer is showing the correct temp don't worry about it.

I have a mat stat that flashes when the temp set is reached, I tested it and it works fine it's just annoying. I keep it as a spare now though.

Sounds like it's working absolutely fine to me - the pusle stat (assuming thats what it is) turns on and off rapidly to hold the temperature at a fixed point - that's what the flashing light is, the on/off intervals.

I have already said it is a heat mat stat and not a pulse stat when i started the thread. I know how a pulse stat works. Thanks for the reply though.
