Default Savlon Germolene- Scale Rot

Has Anyone ever used Savlon or Germolene (IN ADDITION to veterinary advised treatment) to help treat Scale rot in Snakes before. I have read about people using them in the past but germolene contains Phenol as well as Chlorohexidine Gulconate(which is the same active ingredient found in Hibiscrub) Im just wondering if the phenol component is useful or harmful.

Thanks in Advance for Useful Comments

veterinary advice given to my was that scale rot is only treatable by antibiotics, any ointments or creams used externally was to keep the infected area clean,to stop any secoundery infections,l've used iodine to good effect in the past followed by a sluffing agent to speed up the healing prosses
Same as with month rot

I have used savlon and sudocreme on snakes but not germoline.
Give it a good wash with betadine and rub some on just helps keep it clean while the skin underneath heals.

l've used Tamodine, and betadine's very good to,its like thick blood you can really work it into the wound,l've found that betadines very good for any open wound or burn, but you must use a sluffing agent after

Sluffing agents you get from the chemists, its a recovery aid for healing human skin, all witchcraft to me but it speeds up the healing process and helps stop any scaring
