Default Spotted this guy in the Middle East

Ok folks, 2 sporadic mantis encounters

The first flew into the office... Generic looking green mantis approx 3.5 inches from head to tail

The second however, I was sat outside last night when this guy flew over. I only managed to get a couple of shots but he appears to have a reflective spot on the top of his head.

I only managed to get a few shots in before he was straight to the top of the wall.

Any clues as to the species?

Bottom 1 could be Blepharopsis mendica.

It might not be it but from the pics that looks to be the closet.

Imagine living in a place where these roam wild. Must be fantastic.

Swings and roundabouts, it's 45-50 degrees in the day time which is the negative, there's also camel spiders which have a bad habit of getting into the toe of your boot

Oh aye I just meant all the good bits, the wildlife. Can't stand the heat. Love camel spiders. Poor buggers get awful press.
