Default hissing cockroaches

can any1 tell me why madagascan hissing cockroaches leak clear liquid from wot seems 2b ther mouth it seems to b mostly the females any clues would b grt

I gather your all family, or you messin around lol anyways, with my experience with hissing cockroaches, ive never seen this happen, could be the food your giving them, or could possibly be a sign of mating, tho still i havn't witnessed it myself as ours mated Just a few suggestions. Very keen to find out the cause !

yep ur rite sum r family n others work wit us bit of a mad bunch as if u hadnt notticed! my first thought was the food but bein omnivores i feed mine fruit,veg and occasionaly dried dog food this is changed every 2nd day. unless as u say it is mating ther have been 3 lots of babys born this wk alone! thanx for that n will wait n see if any1 else has any notion!

Anyone know where I can get some of these from? Ive never seen them in pet shops but baby roaches = bosc food!

How much could I expect to pay for a small breeding colony?

They arent that expensive I dont think, probably a few pounds or so - you could ask your local petstore if they can get you any. I'm trying to breed them myself (anything for free food!).
