Hi there, I've had my baby bearded dragon for 3 months now (he's now 6months old) and have been housing him on 'All Natural Reptilite' calcium substrate, which the pet store promises is totally safe for him. I've just been reading that you should avoid such substrate at all costs. Is this...

Afternoon all, i've read countless threads online that each say different things, ive got reptile carpet at the moment but would rather get lino as it's easier to manage. What thickness should the lino be and is there anything in particular i need to look for? It's to go in some wooden vivs...

Hey there, So i picked up a 2x2x5ft mesh viv today for a Yemen chameleon that I hope to get in the next couple of weeks. I bought a small pump and i've set it up with some tubing and a timer as an automatic misting system, works great. My only worry is that as you're not supposed to use any...

I have a load of Oak laminate flooring for sale @ £5.00 per square metre. Was bought from a warehouse/factory closure and I have pallets of the flooring available. Please give me your square metre requirements and I can give you a quote. The more you buy, the cheaper it gets :gasp: 3mm foam...

I'm planning to move my little corn snake to a bigger terrarium soon, and my dad suggested using wood chips from our backyard as a bedding/flooring. I'm concerned about possible parasites, do you think it would be best to buy wood chips from a store or is it okay to use the ones from outside? Or...

Hi all, I'm wanting to change round my beardies tank for extra enrichment and was thinking about using slate tiles as flooring. My OH is worried that it will get too cold tho when the lights go out?! Does anyone have any experience of using slate or does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks...

I'm planning on putting tile in my new tank for my bearded dragon. I was wondering if I should attach the tiles to a piece of ply wood so I could more easlily clean in one go rather than taking them all out individually, but I'm concerned that the heating pad won't be able to heat the tiles...

have a load of grey/blue and salmony/sand coloured tiles. they are 30x30 cm but fit together perfect, can be stuck down in viv for permanent use or just slotted in. score with stanley blade or similar knife and then snap the lino to cut. pick up only prefered as tiles are heavy if buying...

I dont wish to start a substrate argument but I currently use newpaper and am fed up of my adult beardie tearing it up and hiding under it. Think he was on sand prior to me having him. Anyway, am thinking of putting ceramic/slate floor tiles down but my question is do you use any adhesive or...

I posted the other day i was looking for new substrates and thought of beech woodchip as i had plenty left over and i needed a clear up of my viv. However, i now want to try tiles and slates, however how do i lay them down without it becoming toxic and creating fumes that may kill my beardies...

I was thinking of making a floor for the viv of a bearded dragon in the same way as making a fake rock (i.e. polystyrene, grout, sand & varnish) & I wanted to know if it would be a good/bad idea. The reason for doing this is that I can have the look of sand without the issues of hygiene etc...

My beardie is now nearly 6 months old and I've decided its time to get him some proper flooring. After looking around I've decided to do the hot end with floor tiles, but I can't decide on the cool end. Reptile carpet seems the obvious choice as it'll be a lot quicker and easier to clean...
