Thing is, my house power got cut last night (it's very early spring here and at night temperatures drop quite much) as I was sleeping, my incubator (Zoomed ReptiBator) went off with 3 fertile leopard gecko eggs, and I didn't realize until I woke up, 3 fertile eggs dropped from 27° (Celsius) to...

Hello everyone, pleased to meet you all!I ☺️ 'm a gal from Argentina. (I know, I know, historical bad blood between Argentina and the UK, let's clear that from the start, I'm not into any debate, my motto is "whoever is living there gets to keep it", and "I'm not into sports"). What I'm into...

A couple months ago, I mated my snakes, but the female showed no signs of being gravid, so I gave up. On June 20, 2021, however, I went to feed my female and saw that she had laid eggs. I am not sure how long the eggs had been there before I found them, but they were fairly small, shaped...

I have a 2 year old Herp Nursery II, which has always been reliable until now. I’ve hatched Cresties and Hognoses in it with no issue last year. I pulled it out for a dumb side project of hatching chickens and on day 7 I came downstairs in the middle of the night to it’s temperature alarm...

A couple of weeks ago I started to notice my female collared getting a little plump and lumpy around her stomach. She’s been housed with a male since the start of this year (thought I was getting another female but then the ‘female’ started developing 2 little bumps under ‘her’ tail, and turning...

I am very confused and distressed about my black ratsnake(elaphe obsoleta) eggs! The female laid them around 2 weeks ago, and slowly they are all starting to be covered in reddish dark blotches all over them! They used to be all nice and even cream/white in color when fresh. I am not a...

This may be helpful to reptile breeders- A small Los-Angeles based company called Tritech Research manufactures and sells incubators that were originally intended for use in lab research and cell culture. Just cleaned out my lay box, which has been sitting outside with the lid on for about 5 weeks. I find a massive, plump, swolen, white, and by the looks of it, fertile egg. I have set up the incubator and it's in there already. I have no idea if it will hatch or not, what do you guys think? I...

Hello :) I have Razorback musk turtle eggs incubating. They have been incubating for 88 days but no sign of hatching. I'm pretty sure they're fertile. They developed a white band and when shining a torch on them I can see the veins and stuff inside (I've only 'candled' them from the top of...

Hi everyone, I have already posted about my female passing away but leaving me behind 3 clutches of eggs. The 1st clutch hatched about a week ago, 6 out of 13 fertile eggs, babies doing well apart from one that escaped and got attacked by my cat :( anyway, since then we have had a heat wave in...

We had 7 eggs laid about 1 month ago. We have had them in an incubator at 29-31 centigrade with humidity at 70-90%. a few are smelly and dark. One appeared to be leaking fluid through the shell. Is this an indication that they are bad or infertile if they are darkened.

I haven't posted anything in a long time now, I thought I would add a few pictures of my breeding project. The first baby from the first clutch has hatched day 73. All the pictures are of the breeders not the offspring (apart from the hatchling) :) 20150522_120155_zpscdvqywsp.jpg Photo by...
