Related pair of Japanese ratsnakes (Elaphe climacophora) sexed at a local reputable petshop. These are very charismatic and attractive snakes, which, as with some other ratsnake species, they seem to be overlooked.
I want to do a fake rock background for my Japanese rat snakes. The rocks will eventually look dark, in line with the typical igneous/volcanic rocks associated with Japan). The vivarium is 4' high.

Title says it all, im after an arboreal snake, as i said in a previous post, but are japanese rat snakes typically aggresive? And do they puff up like other asian rat snakes? Im under the understanding that IJ carpets are generally friendly
