A patch of scales showing the transition between dark and light areas. Note it isn't all or nothing, but the ones in between are kinda intermediate in colouration.

I've just upgraded my macro lens and as such have my old one for sale. This is a cracking lens and most the shots I've taken over the years (See my other threads) were shot on this.

Yes I know I am crazy. This weekend I was playing outside with the family and the mosquitoes were eating us alive. I decided to film one the entire time while he was feeding on me.

I was walking the backyard yesterday trying to find something to photograph and came across these red and black beetles. There were hundreds of them in a single 1 square foot area. I have no idea what kind they are.
