Bit random but im looking to set up a colony of silkworms as another staple to go with my dubias but they eat a ton of mulberry leaves and im not willing to pay the silly prices online.
Dont suppose anyone on here is from around edinburgh and has one or has ever seen one around here?
I was wondering if anyone has fed their boxies silkworms at all?
I use them for my beardie and have given them to my turtles from time to time too. They seem a really good live food source and I always have plenty of them. Are they worth a try?
Does anyone buy micro silkworms and grow them up for feeding? if so what do you feed them ? the website that I was planning to buy from says they only eat fresh mulberry leaves! If if just brought a tub of 50 even I presume they would need some food other than what is in the container with them...

Ok, last night i was grating the chow for my silkworms (after all the fuss i thought they'd be much harder to care for but all i'm using is a paint brush and normal grater), and my finger slipped and i now have a finger wrapped in plasters (awkward spot near but not on the tip so there's 2 for...

Silkworms eat only mulberry leaves and there's no mulberry leaves in cold months. I know some powder can feed them but in my country there's no place for this. Is there any alternative way to feed silkworms in winter? or is there any way to build this powder in house?

At the end of last year I had some silkworms pupate, emerge as moths , mate and lay eggs. I then put the eggs into the fridge for a few months of diapause. About 10 days ago I took them out of the fridge and put them into a converted humid tub on top of Amy's vivarium where it was nice and...
