My little boy was given three locusts yesterday (don't ask, it was a strange day) and I'm trying to figure out what I need to be doing. A lot of the info online is geared towards breeding them for reptile food which isn't that helpful. Could anybody help me with the following questions please...

I need some advice over a problem I am having with my snake's heat lamp. I have a Royal Python who is 8 years old and he keeps wrapping himself around his heat lamp. He has a shelf underneath it to enable him to get plenty of heat, but he still wants to hang off the light. Why is he doing this...
