I am currently at work (providing IT Support for Key Workers / Vulnerable Individuals) and things are a bit slow this morning so please, let me know what new additions you have planned for this year and how the lockdown and/or Brexit may impact them:

I had hoped to purchase some new animals from Europe but that doesn't look like it will happen unfortunately. I was hoping to add a Diamond Python and almost pulled the trigger for delivery to the last Hamm Show - thank goodness I didn't. I would also like to add some more Egyptian Tortoises to my existing group and maybe even some Chinese Crocodile Lizards.

More likely is some new additions to my snake collection in the form of an unrelated female Angolan Python and some Sumatran Pythons. I have recently added some Het. Tri Stripe Royal Python females to my ranks and would like to add one or two more to further my own very modest, breeding plans.

I fancy adding some amphibians to my collection but I must admit the thought of having to feed live food again makes me a little hesitant. Crowned Leaf Frogs, Lemur Leaf Frogs and Whites Tree Frogs all interest me.

Now that I have my own reptile room I would also like to indulge my passion for myrmecology and set up a nice Leaf Cutter Ant Colony - I used to grow on multiple colonies for resale when I lived with my parents.

All of the above will depend on how well my own season goes and what happens in terms of lifting lockdown restrictions. So what would you realistically like to add?

I have a Desert Kingsnake female being sent to me in June which will give me a pair so I can get to breeding them fingers crossed. Once lockdown is over I plan to pick up another Flying Gecko (Ptychozoon kuhli) and some more Takydromus sexlineatus.

If I see a female Yellow Rat or any CB Male Red Tailed Rats then I would buy those too but I'm not expecting anything.

Any particular species of Tarantula?

I quite fancy a Nephila spider and some Vinegaroons too.

Adding to my tarantula collection.
Also planning on another pair or two of viperine snakes (striped form ideally), and grass snakes.

We are getting a young common boa from a local rescue when lockdown eases. Vivarium is finally wired up and cleaned. Currently test running everything (and drying out some substrate...) before the decor goes in. I love setting up new habitats :D

Not interested in some axolotls are you? They can be fed pellets rather than live food (earthworms are their staple). I've kept a few back from the ones I hatched in September till I know what sex they are. Will have some avilable when they do :)

You must be looking forward to getting the Boa?!

There are many species I would like if space and finances would allow - Axolotls possibly being one but not at the moment, thank you for the offer though.

I've recently added a few Bettas and may try breeding them later in the year. Just got a rainbow shark some neon tetra and albino corys which are going in my 4ft tank after their quarantine along with the angelfish and mollies. The angels may eat the neons once they're bigger but for now they'll be fine :whistling2:

I'm setting up a few new nano tanks soon and a couple of 20 gallon tanks so will be having a think what to stock in those.

I'm still considering breeding my Axolotls but not sure yet

I used to keep Discus but had a power cut during the night and lost them all - was gutted.

I would love some Alligator Gar but they get pretty big and I wouldn't be able to accommodate them when larger.

I don't intend to add anything this year and have no plans to for the future really, my collection is pretty huge as it is and I prefer to give what I have even larger enclosures and cater to the ones I breed than add more animals. Although recently I do seem to be rehoming a lot of animals from friends and acquaintances.

I suspect going forward I will begin to specialise more and more in Dione's and Twin-Spotted rat snakes because of their manageable size and I just really like them a lot.

That will probably go out the window the moment I see something odd that I had not expected to see but for now I confess myself more than content with what I have.

Apart from the Egyptian Tortoises that I got at the end of last year, I have been on a hiatus from purchasing any new animals for a number of years. This was in anticipation of moving house but due to personal circumstances my wife and I decided to stay put (in hindsight I am glad we did) and I have recently moved into my own dedicated pleasure (edit: reptile) room so I am a little bit like a kid in a sweet shop although I do enjoy the space and would not wish to fill it up with too many different enclosures and species.

In preparation for the impending house move which never materialised, I actually downgraded some of my enclosures to make my animals easier to transport so I will definitely be looking to upgrade my housing again.

I much prefer to keep multiple individuals of the same species rather than 1 of this and 1 of that.
