i think i've read too many care sheets and i'm starting to go mad, MAD I TELL YOU!!!

do monitors need UV there's lots of caresheets all contridicting each other and my head is battered :blush:

To metabolise vitamin d3 ? No, they don't need UVB. They will not get MBD like other lizards will.

UVB has however got evidence towards increasing appetite and energy, and also enhancing colouration.

I would always use UVB myself with any monitor, just doesn't need to be the strongest, but the animal is not going to get sick and die without it like say, a beadie would.
